Our mission is to revitalize the local community (including Bellefontaine, Embry, Peppertown, and McCain Town in Webster County, Mississippi) to enrich its residents’ quality of life and preserve its local history and historical sites.
We seek to be the driving force which brings all segments of the community together to be a vibrant place which celebrates its history.
We are committed to teamwork, honesty, inclusion, and treating all with respect.
With our mission, vision, and values always as our guide, we are dedicated to improving our community with these strategies.
It all started with a Christmas tea party. When a group of Bellefontaine area ladies met at Sue Knight’s home in December 2023, Margaret Wilson brought two Bellefontaine School annuals and some other old photos. Thinking others would be interested, the Bellefontaine Belle created a Facebook page to share the annual photos, other old photos, newspaper clippings and history.

Soon the small group formed a nonprofit organization, The Bellefontaine Belle Society Inc., to work on preserving history and revitalizing the Bellefontaine, Embry, Peppertown, McCain Town and New Hope communities.
